30 days of thanks

30 days of thanksLast month many of my AssistU friends and bloggers united to post every day their 30 days of thanks. I wanted to participate, but knew I could not post every day, so I’ve decided to share my 30 days all in one post.

I’m most grateful for:

1. My husband. Words can’t explain what a wonderful husband I have. He’s caring, supportive, and loves me unconditionally.

2. My daughter. She’s a handful, but keeps me laughing. Her creativity, wit, and love never ceases to amaze me.

3. My parents. They’ve helped me become the person I am today. Their love and guidance helped me to make some of the right choices in my life.

4. My grandmother. I feel blessed to still have my grandmother be a part of my life. At 82 years old, she looks amazing!

5. My brother and sister.
It’s great to have a good relationship with my siblings. I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like, but I’m happy that we keep in touch.

6. Good Friends. I cherish my friends. It’s wonderful to have caring and supportive people in your corner. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

7. Spirituality. Having my special connection with God brings me peace and keeps me rooted.

8. Health. I’ve really made strides in taking care of ME. I make sure I exercise, eat well, and get plenty of rest.

9. Healthy Eating. Making a lifestyle change to eat healthier has been one of the best things I’ve done not only for myself, but for my family. I feel great about the changes we’ve made in our diet.

10. Kale. Not born a “vegetable lover,” I had to learn how to develop “a taste” for veggies. Luckily, I had an automatic attraction to kale which is considered to be a highly nutritious vegetable.

11. Downward Dog. My favorite yoga position. Every time my lower back hurts, this position does the trick to ease the pain.

12. Chiropractors.
I don’t know what I do without mine. Feels great getting cracked back into place.

13. Massages. Hoping insurance companies will cover this one day. Nothing like getting a deep tissue massage.

14. Walking. I love to walk. Next to yoga it’s one of my favorite forms of exercise.

15. Laughter. A good laugh makes my whole day. We all need to take more time to laugh and not stress.

16. Travel. I ♥ traveling. It’s been one of my favorite things to do since I was a little girl. Every year, I travel to some place.

17. Hawaii. A fave destination. There is something magical about Hawaii. If you’ve been, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

18. Sunsets. Hawaii has some amazing sunsets, but I’ll take any sunset. They give me a sense of peace.

19. Sunshine. Living in Southern California, I get plenty of sunshine. It helps keep my spirits up and helps keep me motivated.

20. Rain. Hearing the rainfall is soothing. I like to turn everything off so I can just sit and listen.

21. Rainbows. Rainbows make me smile. I love to see the vivid colors of red, blue, yellow, green, etc. I like to call it “God’s Masterpiece.”

22. Fireworks. Fireworks excite me. I get a rush hearing the loud thundering booms and seeing the explosion of bright colors against the night sky.

23. Knitting. I remember how excited I was to make my very first scarf. Giving someone something you’ve made is so special. I am in the process of making a blanket for my sister’s baby due the end of next month.

24. Holidays. Halloween and Christmas are my two most favorite holidays. We really enjoy getting creative and dressing up for Halloween. It’s also our time to go all out in decorations and enjoy our time as a family.

25. Yellow Roses. I love the way they look. Yellow roses make me happy.

26. Books. When time permits, I enjoy curling up with a good book. I’m in love with the feeling of stepping into another world–someone else’s world. It’s an exciting escape.

27. Cooking Skills. I enjoy being able to cook and cook well for my family to keep them healthy.

28. Survival Skills. When the going gets tough, I keep going. I’ve had some down and out times, but I’ve been able to miraculously pull through.

29. Details. I like it when people pay attention to details. What a difference little details can make. Don’t overlook them!

30. Positive Attitudes. Keeping a positive attitude can turn a horrible day right around. Although it’s not easy, I always try to look at things in a positive light and keep a positive attitude.

I know we haven’t been friends for long, it just seems like it. But this list truly helped me to know you better! You are a very cool person, and I love you! :)

I have lots of kale dishes for you to try when you come to visit. And, my favorite wish of yours (that I should aspire to) is #27. It’s a great wish, because it really is about your family and not EVERYONE else. :) See, I am always learning from you.
